FLIGHT BIOMECHANICS
To fully understand the physics of flight in nature you have to look beneath the surface. The muscular skeletal mechanisms of flying animals are complex yet fascinating. Using micro CT scanning with muscle staining we can resolve the details of avian wing muscles. This work was done by our PhD student, Fernanda Bribiesca Contreras, who I co-supervise with Bill Sellers.
